SSU COVID Exposure Notification
Updated March 14, 2023
Hello,
As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety of our campus community during this pandemic, we have information that indicates that you may have been in a location with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. This exposure occurred on DATE in LOCATION or CLASS.
Public health strongly recommends that you be tested 3-5 days after exposure, regardless of your vaccination status with a test (any type of test is recommended). Please self-monitor and report any symptoms that may be indicative of COVID-19 right away.
Please note that the best way to ensure your safety is to take all of the precautions prescribed by the university safety plans. Generally, this includes wearing a face covering at all times when indoors and when you cannot physically distance 6' from others, washing your hands, and sanitizing your workspace.
FERPA privacy laws and the Americans with Disabilities Act require that we do not reveal the name of any persons who are or who may be infected with COVID-19. However, we will keep you updated to the extent possible. In the meantime, please be sure to monitor your health closely, ensure you monitor your own health each morning prior to reporting to campus, and consult with your physician if you are concerned about any symptoms you may be experiencing. This message is sent as a courtesy by Sonoma State as you have been identified to have been in direct sustained contact with the COVID positive individual.
If you have questions about this notice or about the COVID-19 safety program at SSU, please contact a member of our COVID-19 Monitoring Team at covid.monitoring@sonoma.edu.
Thank you,
